LG has officially unveiled its first-ever curved display smartphone, the LG G Flex. The unveiling took place in Korea and the smartphone is expected to be available starting from the next month.
Things have really started getting interesting in the world of smartphones! When we all started thinking that the market has almost reached a point of saturation, companies like Apple, Samsung and LG kept on innovating and adding new features to their smartphones. As a result of this, we still believe that there is a lot to come in the world of smartphones and we are really excited about it all!
With the launch of the Apple iPhone 5S, Apple introduced the fingerprint sensor in smartphones. With the Samsung Galaxy Round, Samsung made the first ever curved display smartphone and now with the LG G Flex, LG has joined the battle!
The LG G Flex is definitely a huge smartphone and borrows a number of hardware specs from the LG G2. The LG G Flex has an identical chipset, storage space and primary camera but adds a lot of additional features. The most important one is the curved display that opens up a completely new market! So now let us check out the most interesting part of the G Flex, its hardware configuration.
The LG G Flex has a 6-inch curved OLED display with a 720p resolution. The smartphone has a self healing film which will ensure that your device can easily deal with minor scratches within a few minutes. The company has compared this ability of self healing to the one possessed by Wolverine.
Coming back to the specs part, the G Flex is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 303 GPU and has 2GB of RAM. The fact that this smartphone has a Snapdragon 800 chipset and a 720p display instead of the 1080p one, we can assure you that it will perform much better than any of the other smartphones in the market. The reason is because there are a lot lesser pixels to display and refresh at every interval of time, and due to this there will be less load on the chipset.
Other important features of the LG G Flex include 32GB of internal storage; microSD card slot that we assume will support cards up to 64GB, a high performance 13MP primary camera. This new LG flagship device has a massive 3500mAh battery and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Connectivity wise the smartphone is fully loaded, it has the latest Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and even has support for LTE-A networks.
With all these cool specs and features, the LG G Flex will definitely prove to be a winner! We know that you might feel uncomfortable because of the 720p display present on the device, but we suggest that you personally take a look at the new smartphone and its display! Everything else on the G Flex is up to the mark and ready for action, all you need to do is get one if you are interested.
So there you have it, almost everything you need to know about the LG G Flex. Of course, we will soon have a detailed review of this smartphone and we will also compare it with the Samsung Galaxy Round. We will be doing this very soon, but for now, take a look at the key specifications of the LG G Flex.
