The Pros

HP ENVY Rove 20 - A Tabletop PC And Mobile All-In-One DeviceSince we already mentioned the price, one of the best things about the HP ENVY Rove 20 is that it is more affordable than other tabletop PC’s available in the market. The price range is still a bit much for some people but buying this device definitely means saving some money. In terms of the basic features, the second best thing about this all-in-one gadget is its amazing power source. When its 6-Cell 62Whr battery capacity was tested, it showcased more than three hours of battery life for video playback – which means at least two movies that the user can watch without plugging in the device. It is also powered by the Windows 8 operating system so there will be additional applications that can be explored. Finally, this HP tablet has dual speakers as well as a subwoofer and is supported by Beats Audio. Hence, consumers can expect high-definition sounds with clear and rich bass effects that do not accumulate distortions even when used loud.

The Cons

However, not all things that come with the HP ENVY Rove 20 are positive. There are also a few things in the package that needs to be improved. For one, it weighs too much. Even though we expected that the 20-inched diagonal screen size needs some support, it seems that this tabletop device packed more than what it needs. Specifically, it weighs at least 12.27 pounds. On the contrary, the ENVY Rove 20 was not able to pack enough in terms of its central processing unit. The Intel Haswell Core i3 chipset is a good thing but the 1.7 GHz may not be enough to run the whole thing seamlessly. Well, it may, but it will be because the 1600 x 900 pixels of screen resolution do not support the complete 1080p HD display. Unfortunately, it only has 720p IPS HD technology.

The Verdict

As a flagship device by its manufacturer, the HP ENVY Rove 20 is a reasonable tabletop PC that is compatible for families with children who enjoy playing games like Angry Birds and even Monopoly. The price seems reasonable although it would be better if it had a more interactive and high-resolution screen.
