Laptop Review – Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14

The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 is a member of the Yoga series of its manufacturer that is considered as one of the best laptop line-ups in the market so far. It has a Windows 8 operating system along with some exclusive features that really stand out from the crowd. To be specific, we are talking about the flexible cylindrical hinge that connects the screen and keyboard, which can be used to fold the notebook and use it as a tablet. The drawback, unfortunately, is the value. With a range that starts from $569 to $1099, let us take a look if this laptop is worth its intended price.

Hinge And Processor

Like we said, one of the best things about the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 is its flexible middle which can be folded according to the preferences of the owner. If you need to use the keyboard, you can adjust the monitor and use it as a regular notebook. If you are watching a movie or reading, you can fold it 300-degree and use the keyboard as a stand. Weighing only 4.4 pounds, users can bring it anywhere they want and carry it comfortably.

On the other hand, as one of the most crucial elements of a laptop, the Intel Core i5 4200U processor of the IdeaPad Flex 14 is considerably faster. It does not cause much delay which is a good thing for online gaming and streaming. Also, the touch pad and screen are both very responsive. Add this to the 4-Cell battery which can last up to 9 hours of average use and this laptop could not be much better.

Design And Display Feature

Laptop Review - Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 is crafted with the same components that make the other members of its IdeaPad family. The cover is smooth and even covers the surrounding edges, which are incorporated with a gray border. Unfortunately, the plastic material did not make this laptop look like a premium device. In the same way, the 300-degree hinge is a useful feature, but even it can be improved to flex a full circle.

In terms of the display specifications, the IdeaPad Flex 14 has 14 inches of screen size which entirely measures 13.25 x 9.50 x 0.85 inches. The GPU courtesy of the Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400 supports the 1366 x 768 pixels of resolution. According to experts, this is a pretty low resolution especially if you compare it with other laptops available in the market.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 is definitely a laptop that can attract attention with its unique capabilities. The cylindrical hinge is useful even if it is not capable of fully flexing 360 degrees. How expensive or inexpensive is this laptop for you?
