A few days ago, Google released its Nexus 5 in cooperation with LG and it was the first time that consumers had the chance to look at the latest Google Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Considering its new features and upgrades, it is only expected that individuals who own a different brand of mobile phone wonder when their own devices can get the new operating system. Well, the good news is there are already different announcements regarding the date of the availability of the software update.
Along with the Google Nexus lineup, which includes the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 as well as Nexus 10, that will receive the Google Android 4.4 KitKat update, Samsung also officially confirmed that the Google Play Edition for their Galaxy S4 will be updated in the following weeks. Consumers will just have to wait a little longer for the official date. On the other hand, we do not know yet if the other mobile handsets of Samsung will also be compatible for updates in the future.
Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC United States, has already confirmed that Google Android 4.4 KitKat will be available for the HTC One after 15 days. Users of One can download the software update on the Google Play Edition although if there are individuals who cannot install it immediately, the latest that they can download the KitKat will be after 30 days. We all know that systems usually experience difficulties in terms of these kinds of online activities. Unfortunately, the said update is only available for the United States version of HTC One. For the international version, the update is expected to arrive after 90 days. In addition to that, the company also still has to release more information regarding the HTC One Mini as well as One Max. We can only hope that their software updates will be sooner than later.
Google’s handset arm which is Motorola also just announced that the Google Android 4.4 KitKat will be available for their United States mobile phone models. The Motorola Moto X, as well as all the members of its lineup like the DROID Mini, Ultra and MAXX, is expected to be compatible with the new operating system, although there is no official date of its availability. In the same way, we also don’t know if the international versions of these devices will ever be compatible for the update.
On the other hand, some mobile phone manufacturers like the LG and Sony have not commented yet about the date when the Google Android 4.4 KitKat will be available in their electronic devices. For the customers of these brands, it seems that the best thing to do is just wait.
