Motorola will soon update the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini to Android 4.4 KitKat

We have good news for Motorola fans and consumers who happen to use one of the latest smartphones offered by Motorola. The Google owned company has announced that it will soon be rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update for all its new range of smartphones.

So if you have either purchased a Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx or Droid Mini, you just need to wait for a few more days before being able to taste the goodness and new features of Android 4.4 KitKat. As usual, Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest operating system version from Google will first be available on Google Nexus smartphones and tablets. But Motorola will one of the few ones to follow up as quickly as possible.

Because Motorola is owned by Google, the search giant takes great care of Motorola and the products launched by the company. So yes, Motorola is one of the first few OEMs that will be rolling out the latest firmware update, and this is an advantage Motorola Droid devices will always have.

Now coming to the official news part, Motorola has announced the arrival of Android 4.4 KitKat through a post on Google+. The post said that Motorola would be bringing Android 4.4 KitKat to a small number of smartphones in a short period of time. Well as you must have already guessed, the devices included are the Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini.

But unlike HTC, the Google owned company has not given out any specific date or time frame after which the Android 4.4 KitKat update will be available. So unlike HTC consumers, Motorola consumers don’t really have a date to look out for, but that shouldn’t be a problem because the update is expected to come soon.

By the way, even the Motorola Moto X will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update at the same time. Motorola would never leave out its own flagship device from the list. The Droid series was specially made for Verizon, but the Moto X is available on almost every carrier network.

Lastly, consumers should note that the Android 4.4 KitKat update will be available for all the 4 Motorola smartphones mentioned here. It won’t make a big difference if you have a carrier locked device, unlocked device or a developer edition. The firmware update is coming to you sooner than everyone else. So stay tuned and keep waiting. We will be back with more updates as and when we have them.
