We have great news for LG fans and consumers based in Korea. LG has officially given out the release date for its latest flagship smartphone, the LG G Flex in Korea. The date has been set to November 12, so interested consumers should keep their money ready and eyes open!
The LG G Flex is one of the first few smartphones ever to have a curved display. To be more precise, the LG G Flex and the Samsung Galaxy Round are the only two smartphones available in the market right now that have a curved display! So when it comes to competition, these two have to battle it out between themselves for now, there is no third entry yet.
The LG G Flex will soon be available in Korea, so very soon consumers will be able to choose between the LG G Flex and the Samsung Galaxy Round. Now if you are wondering whether you should go for the G Flex or the Galaxy Round, it actually depends on what you are looking for in the smartphone you would want to own. We have already compared these two smartphones in detail and interested consumers can check it out here.
Another important difference between the LG G Flex and Samsung Galaxy Round is that the later will only be available in Korea. The smartphone is expected to be exclusively made for Korea and might remain that way. But LG has plans to extend the reach of the LG G Flex and make the smartphone available in a number of other regions including Europe, USA and China. The company said that it would make this smartphone available in these regions ‘as soon as possible.’ So there was no particular release date given, but we can live with that for now.
But for Korean consumers, we have the release date – November 12, but we still do not have the pricing details. So if you really are planning to get one, then you will just have to wait for the official pricing information to be given out by LG itself.
Let’s talk about the technical specifications of the LG G Flex now. The smartphone has a 6-inch Curved P-OLED capacitive touchscreen display with a HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The display has a pixel density of 245 ppi and is made up of unbreakable glass.
On the inside, the G Flex has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, so speed, power and performance should not be an issue whatsoever. The G Flex is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU and has 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage but does not have a microSD card slot.
You also get the exact same cameras as on the LG G2. So on the front, it has a 2.1MP shooter whereas on the back it has a 13MP high performance camera. The camera comes equipped with features like autofocus, LED flash, HDR and more. And once again, similar to the LG G2, the LG G Flex has all the hardware buttons on the backside, i.e. under the primary camera unit! So there are no buttons on the side, hence you will get the clean design that the LG G2 has been appreciated for.
So as mentioned earlier, just hold on to your money and wait for the day to arrive! The LG G Flex is coming to Korea very soon, so be ready! Are you planning to buy a curved display smartphone, and if yes will it be the LG G Flex or the Samsung Galaxy Round? Let us know in the comments below.
