LG Google Nexus 4, the predecessor to one of the hottest Android smartphones in the market today has finally started getting a taste of Android 4.4 KitKat goodness. Yes, we finally have the good news that Google Nexus 4 consumers have been waiting for – the smartphone has started getting the Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update.

Google Nexus 4 has been one of the most popular Android smartphones in the market. And the good part is that Google has always taken great care of the Nexus 4, the smartphone that once was the flagship smartphone and represented Google in the smartphone market.

Google Nexus 4 consumers can go ahead and get the update for their smartphones. The current build being offered by Google is KRT16S and it includes a number of additional bug fixes that surfaced in the original update build KRT16O. And if you do not have a high-speed Internet connection, you might have to wait for some time while the update gets downloaded to your smartphone or computer. The new update is 238MB in size and you can rest assured that maximum number of bugs and problems have already been taken care of.

Google Nexus 4 consumers who haven’t got the update notification yet can check for the same manually. Simply go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update and check if the update is available for your device. And even if you do not get the update notification, you should check for it later. Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update is available in almost every region, so getting the update should not be a big problem.

The update measures 238 MB and indicates that Google has taken the extra time to eliminate a maximum number of bugs before releasing the latest Android version to its former flagship. Obviously, there are a number of bug fixes and improvements, but you will also be greeted with a number of new features that will enhance your overall user experience.

Some of the most important and interesting new features include the new Google Hangouts instant chat interface and the automatic caller ID that will allow your device to identify unknown numbers. You will also be able to use the experimental ART runtime feature that reduces the time taken by apps to start and at the same time drastically improve battery performance.

We do not have the official change log, but we hope you have an idea about what you are going to get in this new update. So go ahead, get the update and check it out. Do let us know about the added features and functionality and about the overall user experience of Android 4.4 KitKat.
