Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is expected to unveil the mini-version of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 dubbed Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite at the Mobile World Congress event in the year 2014. The major difference between these two devices will be the physical size and dimensions.
We know that a number of consumers have got their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The phablet is not only popular because of its features and design, but also because of the S-Pen stylus that comes as a part of the device. But there still are many other Samsung fans and consumers who want to get their hands on the Galaxy Note 3 but are uncomfortable because of the extremely large display size.
Not everyone carries a bag with them wherever they go, and not everyone wants to hold their smart devices in their hands every time they walk! Believe it or not, this is one of the most important deciding factors for consumers who do not mind spending a lot of money on their gadgets, but want them to suit them and their ‘hands.’
So if you are still not convinced, you should know that many consumers in the market have been complaining about the display size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The device is considered to be too big to be used as a normal smartphone and does not fit in the average pocket. This is also one of the main reasons why consumers still prefer the Samsung Galaxy S4 over the Galaxy Note 3.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite
So for all those consumers who are a part of the complaining party or those who are simply waiting for a better option, we have great news! Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite at Mobile World Congress 2014. This new version of Galaxy Note 3 will simply have a smaller screen (we assume it will be somewhere between 5 to 5.5 inches) and the company will try to fit in almost every part and feature of the original Note 3 into this one.
There will be many changes on the inside as well as the outside! For instance, the battery capacity might reduce from 3200 mAh to 2600 mAh as seen on the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Grand 2. The S-Pen might become a little smaller in height, but Samsung has to ensure that the pen can be used by people with big hands. On the contrary, you will get better clarity due to the higher pixel density but that really shouldn’t make a big difference honestly.
A recent report from SamMobile says that Samsung has already started working on the smaller version of Galaxy Note 3 and the device is expected to have a better and economical price tag (compared to the original Note 3). The report does not give out the exact details about the screen size or price tag, but for now, we can assume that the two devices will have considerable differences in screen size as well as the price tag.
But if you want an estimate, the so-called Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite is expected to have a 5.5-inch touchscreen display, similar to the one present on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Of course, there will be a generation gap between the two, so we are just comparing screen sizes here, not the resolution or pixel density.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite is expected to have a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a full HD screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and the screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. So if we might have overhyped the Note 3 Lite in the early paragraphs, we are sorry for that. But we have to remember that the Galaxy Note series of devices are phablets, so they really can’t have a display size lower than 5.2-inch or so.
As of now, it would be difficult to estimate whether the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite would simply be a mini-version of the Note 3 or just have a smaller screen. Mini versions of Samsung Galaxy devices have hardly had any resemblance or connection to their elders. Most of the time, we have seen them carry the name but nothing else in specific. We hope that the Note 3 Lite does not end up like the S3 Mini or S4 Mini; we want it to have decent power, performance and a great battery life.
