Xbox One has sold close to 2 million consoles worldwide. The gaming console is literally flying off the shelves since its launch 18 days back, creating a record of sorts.
According to statistics, averages of 111,111 units are being sold each day with over 83 million hours of game playing recorded till now.
Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of strategy and marketing, Xbox, said in a statement,
We continue to be humbled and overwhelmed by the positive response from our fans. We are thrilled to see sales of Xbox One on a record-setting pace, with over 2 million Xbox One consoles in homes around the world. Demand is exceeding supply in our 13 launch markets and Xbox One is sold out at most retailers. We’re also particularly excited to see consumers engaging in a wide range of games and entertainment experiences on the platform, with more than 1 million paid transactions on Xbox Live to date.
According to Yusuf Mehdi, gamers have unlocked 39 million Xbox One achievements and accrued a total of 595 million total Gamerscore points making it one of the most popular online multiplayer communities.
The gaming console brings you 22 hotly anticipated games, live TV, Skype, sports, fitness, music, entertainment apps, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and many more. Holiday time has indeed become entertainment time for the gaming community.
Walmart, GameStop and Amazon have all stated that Xbox One is doing extremely well and currently the hottest selling product this holiday season- they all seem to be doing their best to keep up with the inventory.
