In the world of notebooks and laptops, Lenovo is undoubtedly the world leader. The first surprise gift from Lenovo in 2014 is the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon. It falls into the 14 inch Ultrabook category, and is an extremely light weight device. The previous version of this ultrabook came with some drawbacks and according to the optimistic market assumption, this newest version will come out almost flawless.

The weight of the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Ultrabook is about 1.27 kilogram. The IPS touchscreen version carries a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440. Lenovo has upgraded the resolution from the previous version of this ultrabook which was at 1,690 x 900. It is powered by the Intel Haswell i7 core processor and supports up to 8 GB RAM. The battery life is reportedly long enough to last for nine hours. It is packed with two USB 3.0 ports. It is also integrated with a special category keyboard, named Adaptive Keyboard. Adaptive keyboard autonomously gauges which software is being run by the Operating system, or which application is being run. According to the usability, it highlights the specific keys needed frequently in that particular application. There is an optional provision to add 4G capablities if required. With this Ultrabook, it also becomes easy to click pictures at any time, any place with the optional Quickshot cover. This cover is provided with an 8 MP high definition camera.

The ThinkPad Carbon X1 model is named so, because it is made up of carbon fiber, which is very much strong, when compared to magnesium or aluminium. So, this latest model from Lenovo not only attracts tech savvy people, but is also trying to capture the market by targeting the fashion savvy users.

Economic value and Release Date:
This almost indestructible model of Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook is set to be released in the market this January. The starting price for the lowest configuration for the model has been set at $1,299.
