Sony to release Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Xperia SP, T, TX and V this month

Despite being good smartphones, users of Sony’s devices such as Xperia SP, Xperia V, Xperia T and Xperia TX have not received the Jelly Bean update yet. But this time, Sony has good news for all the people who own these smartphones. These devices would receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update this month itself. The news is official as it was shared by Sony on its official Twitter account.

The Twitter status said that the update is in its final stage of development and as soon as it is developed and tested, it would be rolled out for the customers to install in their smartphones. Chances are there that by the end of January, this update would be available and if not January end, by early February, it would definitely be available. However, this update would start rolling out slowly, reaching out from one country to another, from one region to another. So, depending on your region, the update might reach you sooner or later.

Various other smartphones of Sony such as Xperia Z, Tablet Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR have already received the Android 4.3 Jellybean update. The other mid-range devices from Sony such as Xperia SP, V, T and TX were still stuck on Ice Cream Sandwich and there was growing clamour amongst the users due to this. With this update, a lot of performance improvements and changes are expected.

Those who are eagerly waiting for Sony to announce the Android 4.4 KitKat version should keep their excitement in check as there is no official word by Sony in this regard. Last year in November, it was officially announced by Sony that some of its devices including Xperia Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Tablet Z would be equipped with the Android 4.4 KitKat update soon.

This news would surely bring some cheer to the users who own these Xperia devices as they were waiting since a long time for the Jelly Bean update. However, whether these devices will be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat is still unknown at this point.
