Samsung posted a teaser on Twitter reminding us about the Unpacked 5 event to be held on 24th February at Barcelona, Spain. It is speculated that the much talked about flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S5 along with a revamped version of the TouchWiz user interface will be unveiled by the company at the event.
As you can see in the image, the teaser has 9 symbols in the Samsung Unpacked 2014 invitation- Speed, Outdoor, Curiosity, Fun, Social, Style, Privacy, Fitness and Life. The invitation makes use of a lot of 5s by way of the superscript symbols which are suggestive of the Galaxy S5.
The icons provide generic information about the features which line up pretty well with the leaked information doing the rounds about the Galaxy S5. The icons also match the screenshots of the alleged new UI we have been seeing lately as part of the rumour mill. The icon with a running person probably hints to the new S Health app design revealed a few weeks ago. Also, one can’t help but notice that the redesigned icons share some similarities with the Tizen UI. Is this the beginning of a transition from TouchWiz UI to a more minimalist and flat interface? Only time will tell.
Samsung Mobile’s global channel posted a teaser on Twitter which gives the date and details of when and where to tune into the webcast.
On Samsung Electronics Official Global Blog, Samsung has even quoted Neils Bohr, the 1922 Nobel Prize winning physicist, “Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future.” This is obviously a reference to the numerous rumours which have been floating lately about the purported features of the Galaxy S5. We hope that Samsung is referring to some killer features which are not leaked yet.
We won’t have to wait too long before the mystery is unveiled. So stay tuned for the event which will start at 20:00 CET and will be live streamed. We shall keep you updated as soon as we lay our hands on more information.
