HTC One Review: It’s a Jawdropping Experience

Jasmina Lozevska March 17, 2013 0

Just from the name HTC One you can read the whole story that is behind that name. Its name hasn’t been chosen randomly – HTC believes this device is the one that will change the profit figures and be as successful as it was once upon a time. They gave 100% to make this handset, so they can take the smartphone manufacturing to another level.

For making the HTC One, engineers have focused on four key areas: screen, design, camera and sound. And the review below may even convince you that this is the device for you.

When every Android device is using plastic, HTC One has been made to be a gorgeous device with slightly curved rear side with perfectly shaped edges that have an aluminum case. Although it looks enormous on first glance, it’s really easy to operate. The smartphone is light in every sense of the word, it weighs only 143 grams and it is 9.3 mm thick. The full body is made from aluminum with two tiny plastic stripes on the back for a better signal.

On the front you can see the two large speakers on the top and bottom of the smartphone. It has new button layout and one HTC logo placed in the middle of the third one. The physical buttons are really comfortable to press and easy to reach. On the bottom you can see the microUSB port and on the back you can notice the perfectly placed the large eye of the camera.

HTC always had a perfect design when it comes to the screen. With this new HTC One we can say that this company continues to meet our expectations. The smartphone is equipped with 4.7- inch LCD 3 with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.

The display is sharp, no question about that, with amazing 468ppi, extremely detailed with stunning colors and great contrast. With the reflection from the screen it’s a little bit hard to use the phone on bright sunlight, but that is not really a deal-breaker.

Processor and Memory

The HTC One is perfectly shaped and friendly from the outside, but a beast from the inside. Let me tell you why. The processor is making this device extremely fast, equipped with quad-core 1.7 Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM. He gave great results on some standard benchmark test: AnTuTu: 22198, Quadrant 12481, NenaMar2 61fps.

Depending on the memory, you can find this smartphone in two versions, 32GB and 64GB. It lacks the microSD slot for adding external memory.

UltraPixel camera – that’s the name that HTC gave to the camera. It includes 4 megapixels camera with resolution of 2688 x 1520 pixels. It has an autofocus and LED flash. The features of the camera are quite interesting: 2 micron pixel size, HD video, geo tagging, smile and face detection. It has a secondary camera with 2.1 megapixels. It includes video recording at 30fps with 1080 pixels resolution.
