Spelltower is a pretty cool app that brings back childhood memories of similar games we used to play when we were kids. This game has a simple design and is a word puzzle game that has a couple of similarities to Boggle. It’s very simple. The task is to find the hidden words among the letters. You can find the words combining letters horizontally, diagonally or vertically.
This game is different from others by its genre and the elements it includes from the popular game Bejeweled. When you find one word, that word disappears just like the matched gems at Bejeweled. On the place of the guessed word, the remaining grid of letters drops down and occupies the empty places. While playing, the board is changing and gives you challenges. To be the player with high scores in this game, you must be at least 2 steps ahead of the game and be smart to set up the board for moves that will give you higher scores. On first sight it looks like a complicated game, but I think that’s the beauty of it. There is no fun at playing easy games. Make sure you go through the tutorial once, just to learn all the playing skills.
Afterwards, you can play the game only in Tower Mode. That is the basic mode available which gives you 150 tile board and you have to find as many words as possible. The good news for you as a beginner is that there is no time limit so you can also rest and pass a level at the same time. Try to score more points as fast as you can for the other modes. In this game, the primary goal is to score more and more points by finding as many words as possible. The words must include at least 3 letters in length and of course longer words are worth more points. If you guess a word with 5 or more letters the game will give you bonus points and even some letters will disappear.
With further playing of the game you can unlock the two next modes Puzzle mode and Ex Puzzle mode. Both of them will challenge you more and give the game even more dynamics. Each time you will find a word, the game will add new row of tiles to the board and make things even more exciting. And there is your biggest enemy, Rush Mode. It will make you feel like you’re playing Tetris because the tiles are inserted alternately. The best mode is the Multiplayer mode. When I started playing this game, I forced every friend of mine to install it so we can play it together. Every time you find a word, the game is making your opponent’s board harder to manage and it drops lots of letters to it, which makes it difficult to handle.
Puzzle games are always valuable and players can learn something from them. We have our pros and cons about the game, in case you are interested in a brief summing up.
- Pros: Challenge-full game, Multiplayer action, different game modes, Great value, great interface and quality.
- Cons: We still haven’t found any negative thing about the game, but maybe it lacks more detailed stats.
You can by this game for $1.99 and once you installed it, you can start your own journey on it. It is available for iOS and Android.
