It is the third installment of the Optimus series and each release is a promising handset. It sports a quad-core processor that is best rivaled to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.0 which is considered as the best in the world of phone tablets today.
The first thing you will notice on this phone is its design, it is designed to be very thin at 0.25 inch, and it is also very light for it weighs 6.2 ounces. It is a 5.5 inch phone tablet but is very impressing because the user will not have any trouble holding it with just one hand. Some analysts have already touched the unit personally and confirmed that it’s not that hard, the phone can let the user adjust the number pad and keyboard on either of the sides for easier navigation. For its exact dimensions, the phone is 3 inches wide and 5.875 tall, the volume rocker is very accessible and is placed on the middle left side of the handset’s body. On the top most part of the phone is the headphone jack, and the TV antenna on the right side corner. The sleep-power button is located on the right side while the USB port is situated at the bottom, it uses a USB port type of wire for charging and media transfer.
It has a 5.5 inch screen which is full HD IPS which gives out a very clear resolution no matter what viewing angle it may be. Its resolution is 1920X1080 pixel and 400ppi, the screen is definitely responsive, shows a very crisp resolution and bright too. With the screen it displays, viewing is not a problem whatever the lighting condition is. Apart from that, the Optimus G Pro runs the high end Android system which is the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and has a built-in memory of 2GB RAM, it has a Micro SD card slot which is expandable for up to 64 GB. It boasts a Qualcomm AP8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset with a Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor which causes a competitive speed for the handset.
It is also equipped with several pre-installed applications like music player, video player, weather application, video editors, calculator, a memo pad, a notebook, alarm clock, dictionary, calendar and many others which are essential applications on a daily lifestyle. The people in the corporate world will also love this phone because it is built-in with Polaris Office 4, office suite for mobile; it also allows the user to do multimedia sharing with the use of SmartShare. It also has its own game portal which is the SmartWorld and some other LG applications. The company is also proud to release its feature for note-taking, the QuickMemo, the feature that lets the user take down notes – a new milestone for the company for this kind of feature.
The Optimus Pro also features the QSlide, an application that allows multitasking on the phone. The user can slide over a video while you are accessing other applications, the windows for this feature is also resizable which makes it very convenient for the users.
One of the main focuses right now when buying a smartphone will always be its camera and video specifications, you can never go wrong with this phone since it has a dazzling 13 MP camera with several options to choose from. The user can choose from four different photo sizes – from 1280X960 to 4160X3 with 120 pixels. The LG Optimus G Pro has a very crisp screen display which gives a clear resolution on different images and applications. Its screen display is by far the best feature this phone has to offer to its users. It is also powered by a strong and powerful chipset and processor which will prevent lags in responding to different commands to the phone. It is worthy of its price since it carries the latest operating system, the Android Jelly Bean. The camera is also very good, sporting A 13 MP camera that can compete with the ones from Samsung series.
The phone is built with an excellent design but its wider and bigger screen is too much to handle. It is too big that it is not comfortable to use with just one hand, the fact that it doesn’t come with a stylus makes it a lot harder to navigate. If the company just designed a built-in stylus for this phone, it could have made a perfect rival for the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Previous users of the LG Optimus predecessors will be more enticed to upgrade to this phone and people who love to explore with different applications will most likely purchase this product. Anyone, who loves to capture any-moment photos, will also be encouraged to buy this phone because of its camera. The businessmen in the corporate world will also love all the administrative features this phone offers but might hesitate knowing that it does not come with a stylus and has a larger screen display. The youngsters might not also be tempted to buy this handset since it’s too wide to bring anywhere.
