According to a Japanese website MacFan, Apple is set to launch their latest champion iPhone 5s on June 20 and start selling as early as last July, this last tidbit is from Electronista.

As of now, they are just claims and no formal announcement is forthcoming  from Apple, denying or confirming the unveiling of iPhone 5s. Although according to some reports, Apple Analyst Gene Munster did hint at a late June release and so did Jefferies analyst Peter Misek.

Apple’s iPhone 5s is the next champion to step in and take on Samsung’s Galaxy S4. The iPhone 5 did not match up to S4’s spectacular specs, from hardware to software, Samsung’s Galaxy S4 won by a big margin.

But that’s not all that Apple’s iPhone 5s has to contend with, there is also HTC One, and Google’s new Nexus.

We still don’t know what to expect from iPhone 5s, except that we do know it won’t be sporting a wrap around display. We do hope that it will be a big improvement from iPhone 5, better hardware, better camera, better battery capacity, while we’re at it better everything.

There is little to be gleaned officially, since Apple is mum about the latest iPhone 5 s specs. But we do have some rumors, which sometimes hit the mark.

Let’s start with the design, rumors have it that Apple did not change much in this respect and that the 5 s will look a lot like iPhone 5 except that it will be thinner and lighter and probably an inch or two bigger in the display area. It is not confirmed if Apple is sticking to its retina IPS LCD display or adopting Sharp’s IGZO technology.

According to DigiTimes, Apple might be using an A7 chip from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

Another improvement might be a 13 mega pixel camera and an improved Facetime camera.

Apple is said to be releasing iOS 7 side by side with iPhone 5 s, the next generation Apple software which would seem to be one of the best improvement from iPhone 5.

The new iPhone 5 s is said to have a (Near-field Communication) NFC and fingerprint identification hardware.

Overall, if the iPhone 5 s rumors are true and if they can increase their battery’s performance, then it might be able to hold its own with the likes of Samsung Galaxy 4 anytime.
