Blackberry launched its latest operating system to challenge the iPhone and Android smartphones, the Blackberry 10. In line with its launching, two other handsets were introduced carrying the system, the Blackberry Z10 and the Blackberry Q10. The Blackberry Z10 is the first product of the company that will compete with several touch screen leading brand phones, like Samsung, Apple, HTC and LG. While Blackberry Q10 remains to feature the classic keyboard but carries the latest Blackberry 10 system. Let’s get to know what this classic yet edgy handset has to offer us.
Display and Keyboard Features
Blackberry wants to retain its classic design in this handset. It resembles the other Blackberry phones; its staple color is still black with the elegant curves on the sides. It has a 3.1 inch display and features a SuperAMOLED screen, which promises to deliver crisp and clearer resolution. Its resolution reaches 720X720 at 330 PPI with a Touch On Lens feature.
It also retains its QWERTY keyboard, which made the company once the most famous and saleable smartphone in most countries. Blackberry is aiming to provide its loyal customers the latest system in a classic design. This is the company’s move to entice pervious customers who switched to other touch screen phones.
Processor and Operating System
As being said, this is one of the two phone models that carries the Blackberry 10, the updated system for Blackberry smartphones. It has additional applications and features the new BBM which made the consumers excited on this phone.
It is powered by the Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, it is dual core and powers for up to 1.5 GHz. It carries a powerful processor but isn’t a surprise at all. Many smartphones are being powered by the same processor and has been tested of its performance.
It has a dual camera, one at the back and on the front. It sports an 8 MP rear camera which is hard to find in a non-touchscreen unit at this time. It also has a 2 MP camera in front, which is good enough for video call use. Its back camera can zoom up to 5 times while the front camera can zoom for up to 2 times only.
The Blackberry Q10 has a good amount of RAM memory which is up to 2 GB. Blackberry has added a 16 GB built-in memory or internal storage. If the given space isn’t enough, the user can always expand it for up to 64 GB using a MicroSD card.
It caters wireless connections like Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE, NFC and Wi-Fi. It also has a microUSB for additional connectivity and microHDMI-Out. It is powered by the Blackberry NS1 2100 mAh battery, though Blackberry hasn’t confirmed its standby and talk time capacity yet.
Almost everyone loves how Blackberry retained its famous QWERTY keyboard. It’s going to be familiar to previous users and will probably regain their loyalty to the phone. However, this phone will not catch the attention of consumers who are concerned on fast processors and updated features.
