Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Is it Worth Investing For?

Samsung is currently the leading brand defeating Apple in sales and performance in its top of the line smartphones and tablets. It released an addition to its note series, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and is the greatest competitor of the Apple iPad Mini. It promises an excellent performance, but will still remain a question until more people start using it.

Some consumers find this device too expensive of its size, but is expected to maintain a high sales rate just like any other Samsung devices. It is expected to be released with a price tag of $329 or higher and will be available in the in the middle of this year. It was introduced in Barcelona, Spain during the Mobile World Congress and some were lucky to get their hands on the device. Read on for the full specifications of the Galaxy Note 8 and decide whether this product deserves to be patronized.

Camera, Memory and Processor Details

Samsung is also known for its good quality cameras on phones but this expensive device only sports a 5 MP camera which may or may not be efficient enough depending on its use and considering the price it has. Although, it has several back camera features like the Auto Focus – which is present in any normal smartphone or tablet, ISO control, Geo-tagging and the Panorama Feature. The camcorder has a resolution of 1920X1080 in 1080p HD.

It is a dual camera mini tablet with a 1.3 MP front facing camera. Considering its megapixel value, the user can’t expect much from its front camera.

Samsung is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor ARM Cortex-A9. Its processor brand hasn’t been disclosed by the company yet but is expected to pass the standards with flying colors. It also has a separate graphics processor which is already included in the four processor chips of the device.

The Galaxy Note 8 has a built-in memory of 16 GB but only has 2048 MB of RAM. However, its memory is expandable through a MicroSD, MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC for up to 64 GB.

Display, Operating System and Connectivity Options

It has an 8 inch screen with 1280X800 pixel resolution. Its screen is very sensitive and has the Multi-touch feature. It’s normal for Samsung though to have crisp and high resolution in its smartphones and tablets. Its screen is very compatible with its S-Pen. The S-Pen in this version is said to be more sensitive no matter what the circumstance is.

The Galaxy Note 8 is operated by the latest Android version, the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, which has pre-installed applications as well. There are countries releasing two kinds of the device, the one with the 3G technology and the wireless capable unit. However, Wi-Fi only tablets will be released in America.

The Galaxy Note is a good deal for business people who would love to carry their files anywhere they go. Its advanced S-Pen is an advantage and will add a reason for buyers to purchase it. If price won’t be considered, people would choose this over the iPad Mini. But, this is expected to be more expensive than the iPad Mini – it might be hard for Samsung to increase the sales rate at first.

The price isn’t fixed yet, until then will we be able to conclude if this device is worth the investment.
