Apple has been working on something special for a few years now, an interesting take on the television set. The Apple TV set as we will call it probably will not be seeing the light of day any time soon. It’s been long enough that a lot of people out there are calling foul and saying that the Television set will never be released and it was only a pipe dream by Steve Jobs.
This day however, it doesn’t seem like such a far fetched idea. Apple just signed on Loewe, a German company that specializes in making televisions. Definitely a good sign for anyone who is interested in an Apple TV set. Apple is also gearing up for a press release in March that looks to have a very large television entertainment bent to it. So it looks like we will be getting a bit more info regarding the television set next month.
This little project was started when Steve Jobs declared he had cracked the code on how to make a successful television set. It seems to now fall to his company to live up to his idea. They seem to be doing a good job of it. A recent leaked rumor suggests that Apple is planning on releasing a bona fide app store for the TV set when it is released. In fact, the dev kits for the television set are expected to make an appearance and be distributed during the special event Apple has planned for March.
It really does start to seem like Apple has a grand idea for a television set in the future. Rumor has it expected to release in the $1500 price range and with a 42” – 55” display. If it will live up to the standards sony and samsung have set so far is yet to be seen. I, for one, am curious to see what Apple has to offer, and exactly what it means by possibly having a TV connected to an app store.
