This new tablet from Acer is really worth for its price and it’s not even expensive. We are going to present you the “hands-on” with this device. The Acer Iconia A1 is a 7.9-inch tablet which can be yours for $169. Oh yes, it’s Android based and you will get plenty of applications from the Google Play Store.

This budget 7-inch tablet that runs on Android got very crowded on the market but this didn’t stopped a company like Acer to make their step into it. This new Acer Iconia A1 has a starting price of $169 and some simple explanation that it is like “Netbook of the moment”. But I think that this won’t help them into selling it for this price because it’s not very unique any more. Many tablets that are similar to this one have even the similar prices such as: Kindle Fire, IdeaTab A6000 from Lenovo and HP Slate 7.

This Iconia A1 tablet has very solid touch and amazing plus attractive plastic design which is very thick. It weighs only 0.9 pounds and it is thick 0.44-inch. It has a white back and kind of reminds of the Google’s Nexus 7. The very big difference is that this tablet has a 7.9-inch display with 4:3 IPS and 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution. As you can see, it includes the same resolution and size as the Apple’s iPad Mini. This means that it will help you with the e-reading and PDF data. It looks like a sheet of paper and it has all the dimensions of it.

It’s equipped with a fast enough 1.2GHz quad core processor and 1GB RAM. The storage capacity which you can choose from is 16GB or 8GB that is great for this price. This is not all because there are some other decent extra features. The OS which is included on this tablet from ACER is Android JB 4.2 and has 3G option included as an addition to the Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity. The front-facing camera shoot with 0.3-mpix and the rear camera has 5-mpix with 1080p video. If you lack some storage capacity and you want to upgrade it, there is MicroSD slot which supports extra memory up to 32GB. On the tablet, there are also HDMI and MicroUSB ports included. GPS and Gyroscope are also there.

This Iconia A1 from Acer will be made available sometime in June. The 8GB version will be priced $169 and the 16GB version will be priced $199. Based on its specs it could take away the attention of many tablet searchers in this crowded field with tablets.
