HTC One – a Handsome Handset with Interesting Features

HTC has announced it newest flagship smartphone called HTC One and guess what – the device is looking pretty good and has to offer some wide range of cool features. It seems like a nice combination of both looks and features.

The new HTC One was introduced on Tuesday at a special event in New York City. The smartphone from HTC has all it takes to compete with all the smartphones on the current high-end list. Initial expectations suggest this device is going to be established as Apple’s and Samsung’s biggest competitor in 2013.

Times were hard for HTC for quite some time now. The company has been working hard on a device that would rank right next to Apple and Samsung flagship handsets. Now that the handset has been officially announced, a bit of reviewing would make things even clearer.

HTC One has a smooth design and it looks just as nice from any angle you choose to view it. As far as I’m concerned, this handset has a design that could definitely compete with the currently best-looking smartphone out there, the iPhone 5.

HTC One uses a combination of aluminum, polycarbonate and glass, which results in an impressive look. I have to say this HTC device might surprise a lot of people with its design, as many did not expected HTC to launch a device that looks as good as this. The smartphone will be available in many other colors, besides silver and white.

It weighs 143 grams and has 0.37 inches in thickness.

HTC has finally introduced something new at the camera section. According to HTC, the megapixels on your phone camera are not important any more. Instead, they made it clear that, as long as your smartphone has UltraPixels, you’re good to take nice photos and shoot great videos.

The company has pointed out that it doesn’t matter how many megapixels your phone has. What HTC has introduced now, is a 4MP camera with UltraPixels, called Zoe. Zoe stands for the Zoe software, which makes the camera more powerful with fewer megapixels.

HTC One has an impressive 4.7-inch full HD display with a resolution of 468ppi, which would suit anyone’s taste and needs. It features one of the best screens that can be found out there. It’s big, it’s rich in resolution and it’s covered with Gorilla Glass. What’s not to love about it?

Performance and other specs

HTC One has a powerful quad-core 1.7-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and alongside with the 2GB of RAM, this handset offers a smartphone performance at its finest. It comes in two internal storage options – 32GB and 64GB, without the option to expand memory.

The handset runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which brings a lot of interesting features like BlinkFeed (a home screen that shows plenty of sites) and IR blaster (a remote control for your TV).

HTC One is equipped with LTE support, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi hotspot capability and a Lithium polymer 2300mAh battery. The capacity of the battery should have been a bit higher, regarding this list of powerful specs. If it’s any consolation, the battery is better than the one in HTC Butterfly.

The handset should hit US shelves as soon as March, so if you’re looking a HTC One device for yourself, it should be on the list of offers by AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Reportedly, the 32GB variant will be priced $199.99 and the 64GB version will have a price of $299.99.

The sum up

The bottom line is, HTC’s newest handset is a powerful beast of a smartphone. Not only it has a gorgeous design, but it’s also rich with specs. It sports the latest CPU and introduces a totally new camera performance, which can only result in great user experience. So, regarding all of these things, it is inevitable to mention that HTC’s newest release is going to be a great deal for smartphone lovers.

It is light, thin and fast. On top of that, it has an extremely attractive design. Its price tag is rumored to be affordable – it looks like a total success. Will it manage to stand shoulder to shoulder with high-end handsets, like the iPhone 5 and highly-rumored Samsung Galaxy S4?
