The president of HTC America, Mike Woodward, said that it’s about time to shake things up in the Smartphone space—this was heard from him on Tuesday in New York during the HTC One launching. With the unveiling of the company’s latest flagship phone come questions here and there if it would be able to compete with Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5. The world of mobile technology is headed by two giants Apple and Samsung and various companies are now racing for the third spot which is getting tougher every time with Sony, LG, BlackBerry, Nokia and HTC joining the race. For quite some time now, Nokia has stayed on top the choices of people but when talking about Smartphone, Nokia unfortunately has fallen behind the two giants even when it was able to introduce Lumia series. The status that it once enjoyed was no longer regained.
What made Nokia’s comeback more difficult is the HTC’s arrival, a mobile company from Taiwan. HTC has been doing a really good job since its joining in the race in mobile technology with HTC One as its latest product. Called by people as “One”, this product is now pitted versus Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s GalaxyS3. What are the features that HTC One is setting up against the mentioned giant companies?
The product has a Blink Feed feature for one which takes the place of icons that can be seen on the home screen and it has personalized stream of videos, photos, social networking updates and news articles. The tiles are automatically updated every time there are news and information feeds that are coming from news and social networking sites. When it comes to the processor, the product runs on Android 4.1.2 and the update to 4.2.2 is coming very soon. Another interesting feature of “One” is its camera which comes in 4MP with a twist which it calls Ultra pixels. Ultrapixels are bigger than the usual pixels than other companies which enables the users to shoot true-to-life, stunning images with a wide range of colors. With this feature, the company claims that it will definitely capture more light compared to the LED Flash and higher MP from Samsung and Apple.
These are just a few of the many features of “One” and on the paper, this latest from HTC definitely matches the competition specs, even outshining the devices from Samsung and Apple. For now, HTC One looks like a good choice for the Android fans around. With a killer hardware and convincingly great software feature, this indeed looks like the company’s most awaited time to shine.
