Yesterday, we made a report of all Apple related rumors for the past few months. Apple is not the only company that is in the middle of every rumor, Google’s Android is here to interrupt the monotony. Google has been very busy working on their future Android plans this year and we expect to see many new features coming from this company. Here is what we’ve been able to hear, see and read for the past few months.
- Motorola X Phone
According to leaked roadmap by Verizon, this new smartphone is expected to come out on August 23. Another report by WSJ, Google plans to empty its pockets and spend $500 million in order to market this new device. After so many rumors and leaked images, this Moto X project could represent a smartphone with average specs. Leaked details showed that this device will be equipped with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor along with 2GB of RAM. It will have OLED HD display and a 10-mpix camera.
CEO Denis Woodside said that we will see this product sometime in October. Only detail shared by this CEO is that Moto X will have an OLED display. Some other report was indicating that the whole smartphone will be manufactured in the U.S, which makes it the first smartphone ever built there entirely. Other rumors showed up that you will be able to customize your own materials and color and have it shipped like that.
- Motorola Droid U-series
The launch of this new smartphone could be on the horizon and Verizon is mentioned as the official carrier. This came from a leaked ad which shows that August 8 will be the official date when we will see new Gorilla Glass protected and Kevlar-coated experience arriving at our favorite carrier shelves. Shortly after that, Motorola Droid Maxx is expected to arrive which will feature the same hardware like its predecessor but with better battery capacity.
@evleaks and Droid Life came up with same speculations about future Droid Mini, Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra models that will be launched pretty soon.
- LG Optimus G2
A leaked picture showed that this new smartphone will include some slight changes in its design. Some changes have been noticed around the volume and power buttons. After LG launched its thinnest Full HD LCD panel, it won’t be a surprise if we see it included in this new Optimus G2 smartphone. Engadget reported that this smartphone will be carried by at least one U.S carrier. LG has confirmed earlier that all devices that will go under “G” series will include the new Snapdragon 800 processor by Qualcomm. Numerous rumors are saying that it will be launched on August 7 running on the latest Android 4.2.2, 2GB RAM, a 5-inch display and a 13-mpix camera.
- Verizon and Refreshed HTC One
Verizon version of this HTC One smartphone could arrive on August 1. This was reported after leaked roadmap of this carrier has showed up.
Refreshed HTC One version is expected to arrive by the end of this year. It will include the faster and newest Snapdragon 800 processor by Qualcomm. Plastic and cheaper version of this handset is also rumored that will be introduced this year.
- Huawei Ascend P6
Report showed that Huawei is working with Google for making another version for the recently announced Ascend P6 smartphone.
Leaked hardware specs showed that Sony is on the verge for producing its Honami i1 device by the end of this summer. It was rumored that this device will have a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 32GB internal memory, 2GB of RAM and a 20-mpix camera.
- HTC One Mini M4
Rumors showed up saying that HTC will name its HTC One Mini “M4” when it launches on the market later this summer. According to Bloomberg, this handset will be available in August. We saw leaked images showing smaller and the ordinary version of HTC One. According to this report by Forte.delfi.ee, HTC One M4 features a 4.3-inch screen with a 4-upix camera. It will have a 2GB of RAM running on Android 4.2 with support for the fast 4G LTE network.
- Nexus 7
The full name of this tablet is ASUS Nexus K009, which has been spotted in leaked FCC documents. It will include a 1.5GHz quad-core APQ Pro processor by Qualcomm, support for LTE network, a 5-mpix camera and a 4,000mAh Li-ion battery. This next gen Nexus device is expected to cost $229 and it could start shipping by the end of the summer. According to another report from DisplaySearch, this model will have a 323ppi that matches 1900 x 1200 pixel resolution.
- Samsung Galaxy Note 3
SamMobile was the first to release rumors for this device. It could be equipped with a 6.3-inch display, 8-core processor, a 13-mpix rear camera, a 2-mpix front-facing camera and 3GB of RAM. It’s expected to arrive this fall, October to be precise.
There you have it, all Android based rumors for these past two months. As you can see, we can expect many devices hitting the market by the end of this summer. Some of the rumored devices have already been launched on the market and some of them are still expected to come out.
