Sony PlayStation 4 Launch date is November 15

Gamescom event was held this weekend in Germany where all big game titles developers and console manufacturers gathered to unveil new details and features about their game consoles. After we saw Microsoft announcing that the pre-order Xbox One consoles will have the most popular soccer game FIFA 14, Sony announced the official release date of its PlayStation 4. This comes officially from the company and what we had before were only expectations and rumors.

Sony announced that PlayStation 4 will launch on November 15 in North America and it will come to Europe on November 29. This console will be available for $399. Jack Tretton, Sony CEO, said that they are pleased to finalize the procedure by gathering the final pieces of this puzzle. According to the company, there will be 15 game titles available for this console by the end of 2013. The total number of games will be 33 if you include the digital downloads. The games which will be waiting you from the launch date are: NBA 2K14, Call Of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Skylanders Swap Force, Madden 25, Need for Speed: Rivals, NBA Live 14, FIFA 14, Killzone: Shadow Fail, Knack, Assassins Creed IV BF, Just Dance 2014, Watch Dogs, LEGO Marvel Superheroes and #DRIVECLUB.

Tretton also said that there are currently working on 180 games and only 33 will be available right before this year ends. Sony is heading towards this official launch date with very positive thoughts and expectations involving PS 4. This gaming console costs $100 less than its biggest competitor, Xbox One and Sony has already pre-sold 1 million consoles. Alongside this, PS 4 has introduced a new streaming service, Twitch, and included a new game – Minecraft.

Sony also mentioned that there will be some price cuts for the previous models. The PlayStation 3 (12GB) will be selling for $199 soon and the price of PlayStation Vita will also be trimmed down. According to Jim Ryan, Sony CEO for Europe, the PS Vita will be available for $199 coming along with big price cut for its memory cards. All Vita models will receive this price cut while memory cards will be available for $5 – $20 less than its original price. The PS Vita has always been behind Nintendo’s 3DS handheld but even this has changed for the past period of time when tablets and smartphones have became the next favorable gaming console for all people.

The PlayStation 4 received some great reviews right after it was unveiled. That was only a brief first-look review and we will definitely write full performance report when we get our hands on this gaming console.
