Google Nexus 4 is now discontinued from Play Store, $100 price cut was for stock clearance

It seems that Google will no longer be offering the Nexus 4 smartphone in the United States. If this information is correct, it means that consumers will no longer be able to purchase the Google Nexus 4 through the Play Store.
A recent report from The Verge indicates that Google has already stopped offering the Nexus 4 smartphone. The Nexus 4 device is already out of stock since a large number of consumers bought the device since it had recently received a $100 price cut. The Verge also said that Google has no plans to restock the Nexus 4, probably because the company wants to make way for the next-gen model.

Now looking back to the decision made by Google, the price cut was not actually an offer but a way to quickly sell out all the remaining Nexus 4 smartphone i.e. empty the stock as fast as possible. And if you are wondering why Google did so, the answer has already been leaked out on the Internet – Google Nexus 5.
Yes that’s right, believe it or not, the Google Nexus 5 is coming sooner than you expect. If you have already checked out the video that showcased the unveiling of Android 4.4 KitKat, you must have seen that Google employees were using a Nexus device that was never seen in the market before. And as of now, there is enough proof that this new device is none other than the new Google Nexus 5!
If you happen to be a consumer situated outside the United States, you should know that the same scenario will soon be seen in your region as well. Even though a number of stores might be offering the Nexus 4 smartphone for now, there will be no new devices coming in after the current stock has been sold out.
In a way, this is good news and well as bad news! Good news for consumers who have already bought the Nexus 4 after the price cut as well as for consumers who are waiting for the Nexus 5 instead. And potential bad news for consumers who were looking forward to get their hands on the Nexus 4, and take advantage of the new pricing scheme.
So if you still want the Nexus 4, be sure to get it from any other retail store that is still offering the device. But if you are looking forward to the Nexus 5, then your wait will also be over soon. A number of leaked Nexus 5 images have surfaced online, so its just a matter of time before Google makes it official.
