It had been on news articles everywhere that the new Nokia Lumia 1520 will finally debut in a company event in New York City before the end of September 2013. The original date in the release of the said smartphone was on September 26. However, it seems that recent information are saying that Nokia tentatively rescheduled the event somewhere in the middle of October and that the company may choose a different location.
For the past few weeks, the Nokia Lumia 1520 handset has been one of the gadgets that filled websites with leaked information. Even in the mentioned situation, Nokia was able to keep all official information on hold and for the moment. It seems that they are going to hold on for it a little bit longer. Code-named Bandit, the 1520 handset was reported to have a 1080p screen which so far may be the largest and sharpest display resolution compared to all Windows Phone gadgets and devices. Obviously, this release will mean that more 1080p Windows Phone units are expected to be released in the future. Furthermore, the Lumia 1520 was also constructed specifically with a polycarbonate body. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, one of the exciting features of this handset will be the 20MP camera that will accessorize its back.
According to experts, the delay in the debut of the new smartphone might be the result of the $7.2 billion sale of Nokia, from its services and device division, to the Microsoft company. Concerns regarding internal management issues were actually discussed since the release of the news but the talks remained unofficial. It was announced earlier this month and although various media branches have contacted Nokia about this, no further information was provided by the said company.
The situation is surely a complicated one but the global market is still expecting Nokia to continue in launching Lumia 1520 even with the current delay. In November, the said gadget is anticipated to debut on AT&T in different colors of white, black, red and yellow. In addition, it is a good thing that Nokia is still pursuing the possibility of another device release which will feature a 10.1 inches of screen display by its own tablet, code-named Sirius, Windows RT. On the other hand, Microsoft is also planning on unveiling similar products which they called the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 in the next few weeks.
