Two Samsung gadgets will reach stores in India on September 25. These are its Galaxy Note 3 tablet and Galaxy Gear SmartWatch. Previously, Samsung also launched the same devices in Berlin only two weeks ago. Respectively, the Galaxy Note 3 will cost Rs.49,900 while the Galaxy Gear is priced at Rs.22,990. Since the SmartWatch only works with either Galaxy Note 3 or S4, the two devices will sell at Rs.72,890 without discounts even if customers bought the two gadgets together.
The Galaxy Note 3 has an Octa-core chip design with a 1.9GHz quad core processor to support applications that require intensive work. It also has a second quad core processor to increase the efficiency of the tablet when doing tasks and performing. On the other hand, there have been a lot of news about the usage of Snapdragon CPU’s in technological devices released in Europe and the United States. Snapdragon is capable of recording higher definition resolution videos but Samsung opted to choose the old processing version. According to them, India is a country that still uses 3G technology and customers will benefit more from it.
The second gadget that Samsung will launch is the Galaxy Gear SmartWatch. It has an accelerometer, a 1.63-inch AMOLED screen display, gyroscope and even a 1.9MP camera. In addition, it has an 800MHz processor, 512MB sized RAM and an internal storage of 4GB. With a compatible smartphone and reliable Bluetooth connection, the Samsung SmartWatch can notify the user about incoming calls as well as messages. If needed, users can also answer calls using the SmartWatch through a built-in microphone and speaker. Lastly, the Galaxy Gear also has options wherein users can choose a variety of faces, check calendar for appointments or use the built-in pedometer when doing exercise activities. From Tuesday until the market release, customers who live in India will be able to try this gadget with security lock in at least 100 showrooms in Mumbai, Delhi, as well as Bangalore.
In general, the price of the Samsung Galaxy Gear and Galaxy Note 3 is already expected. Today’s trend is more on creating devices with the goal of having easier daily lives through advanced technology and innovation. However, although the cost is already expected, it is still quite disappointing. The device is a strong one which can shape the future of smartphones and watches but due to the high cost of purchase, it may create limited market and sale.
