Last Thursday, Republic Wireless, a communication service provider based in the United States, announced that the Motorola Moto X will be available under its company for $299. It will come without a contract so customers do not have to engage themselves in more expensive activities. The new deal by Republic Wireless will be available starting November 2013.

The sale of smartphones is probably one of the biggest industries in the US as well as other countries. Specifically, network carriers are the ones that are competing against each other in offering customers cheap deals which will make them buy a mobile phone and at the same time subscribe to the network carrier’s contract. Usually, these contracts range betwee two or more years. This time, however, Republic Wireless is offering the Google owned Moto X without any add-ins. Moto X is another popular smartphone device which competed against Apple’s iPhone 5S and Samusung’s Galaxy S4.

The leading network carriers in the US such as AT&T, Sprint, as well as Verizon are offering the same gadget for the price of $199.99. It is an extremely less expensive price than what Republic Wireless is offering but the former deals come with a two-year contract. If the customer chooses to buy the un-subsidized version of the Moto X, the price will rise higher up to $599.99. Obviously, Republic Wireless is about to stiffen the competition with its own independent offer.

However, there is also a catch. Republic Wireless used to depend heavily on Wi-Fi and Sprint in carrying out its own services. When the said communication service provider was established, they became known for their mobile budget plans which included unlimited phone service wherein customers will pay only $19 per month. And so, if the Moto X will be sold without any carrier, which meant no Wi-Fi and no Sprint, it might not be able to do its usual functions. It’s all up to the customers to decide whether they want to grab this opportunity or not.

On the other hand, Republic Wireless is offering four service plans for this Moto X deal. There is a $5/month deal for unlimited call, text and data on Wi-Fi and $10/month upgrade to get the same services but on both Wi-Fi and cellular network. There is also a plan for unlimited text, call and data on Wi-Fi and 3G for $25/month and $40/month upgrade to 4G and LTE.
