The Alcatel One Touch Hero is a comfortable gadget, given its curves and decent design, with featured tricks that it offers on its own. It has a high resolution touch display and quality upgrades in terms of general performance and hardware. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a multitasking device with a big display screen and innovated S Pen. It has the capability of understanding handwriting and runs applications with swift and slickness. In this comparison, let’s see where the two smartphones are better than the other.
Build and Design
Still to come in stores, one of Alcatel’s newest smartphones has a dimension of 158.5 x 80.6 x 8.5 mm. The official weight is still unsure but experts are reporting that it will be as heavy as regular devices. When the product sells, it will be available in blue, black and white colors. It also comes with a stylus.
On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 has a slightly smaller 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm of measurements. It weighs 168 g which is an average in terms of the trending standard devices. It also comes with an S Pen to support its new display features. It will be available in white, black and pink model colors.
The Alcatel One Touch Hero has 6.0 inches of capacitive and multi-touch screen. It sports an IPS LCD which displays 16M colors. It has a native 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution with 367ppi pixel density. Its features include proximity sensor, light sensor and Oleophobic coating.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is sporting a 5.7-inch screen size with the same multi-touch and capacitive features. The pixel density 386ppi which is slightly higher. It has 1080 x 1920 high resolution pixels courtesy of the Super AMOLED touchscreen with light and proximity sensors.
Operating System and Hardware
Alcatel’s One Touch Hero will have an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with Candybar form factor. The processor is a Quad-core with 1500 MHz and its own graphics processor. There is 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. If users wish to increase the smartphone space, there is a memory card slot compatible with MicroSD and MicroSDHC which can cater up to 32GB. There is also a non-removable Li-Ion battery with 3400mAh which can last up to 20 hours of talk time.
The Galaxy Note 3, on the other hand, will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Candybar form factor. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip with a Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 central processing unit. The graphics processor is an Adreno 330 while storage features include 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. A memory card slot is available which is compatible with MicroSD and MicroSDHC for at least 64GB. The battery is a Li-Ion 3200mAh but there is no information yet about how long it can last.
Camera and General Multimedia
The One Touch hero of Alcatel sports a 13MP camera with 4128 x 3096 native pixels. It features LED flash and auto focus with the ability of Geo-tagging, face detection, touch focus and panorama. Moreover, the camcorder can capture 1920 x 1080 or 1080p HD videos while the camera at the front works at 2MP. Additional multimedia include an MP3 music player, FM and Stereo. Video formats are specifically MPEG4, H.263 and H.264.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have the same 13MP camera, 4128 x 3096 resolution, auto focus and LED flash with LED flash. However, it offers more features such as the back-illuminated sensor, digital image stabilization, smile detection, ISO control, white balance presets and more. In terms of the additional multimedia, this smartphone also has a music player but with more compatible formats such as MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV and WMA. Videos which are in MPEG4, H.263, H.264 and WMV formats can also be played.
Both the Alcatel One Touch Hero and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are smartphones which have not yet been released in stores.
