Both released this year, the LG Optimus F3 and Samsung Galaxy Ring are Android-powered mobile phones specifically made to cater the greater masses. The former has an incredible battery life which lets its users explore it for a longer period of time and camera features for avid mobile photographers. The latter, meanwhile, has greater hardware specifications and larger build to showcase its high resolution display. Even though these are not premium handsets, let’s see what more they can offer better than the other.
Build and Design
The Optimus F3 made by LG is has 116 x 62 x 10 mm measurements while the entire handset weighs at 113 g. These numbers are small compared to the general standard devices that are in the market today but are enough to showcase excellent features incorporated by the said company. However, for now, it is only available in black color.
On the other hand, Samsung made the Galaxy Ring to have larger measurements of 123 x 63 x 12 mm and lighter weight of 96 g. This is purposely designed for customers who want to carry their mobile phones easily. It is also comfortable to hold given its sleek design and curvaceous physicality. However, it is also only available in black color, too.
When it comes to the display features, the LG mobile phone has 4.0 inches of screen size exhibited by an IPS LCD. It has a native 480 x 800 pixels of screen resolution and pixel density of 233 ppi. The screen is both capacitive and multi-touch which comprises sensors for light as well as proximity.

Operating System and Hardware
Since the continuous upgrades of existing operating systems, the LG Optimus F3 will sport the 4.2 version of Android with a Candybar form factor. It will have a Dual-core processor with 1200 MHz and an integrated graphics processor on its own central processing unit. The RAM is 1024MB while internal storage comes at 4GB. To increase space, the memory card slot is compatible with MicroSD and MicroSDHC with the maximum of 32GB. The battery is Li-Ion with the capacity of 2460 mAh. It can last up to 16 hours.
In terms of the Galaxy Ring, Samsung incorporated the Android version 4.1 TouchWiz UI operating system with Candybar form factor. It will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8655 chip but with only a Single-core processor. It will have a similar 1024MB RAM and internal storage of 4GB while its graphics processor is an Adreno 205. Additional space comes available with a maximum 64GB MicroSD, MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC memory cards. The battery is Li-Ion with a lower 1750mAh. This can only be used for a shorter 8 hours.
Camera and General Multimedia
Featuring in the LG Optimus F3 is a 5MP camera at the back and 0.3MP VGA in the front. It has an LED flash, auto focus, digital zoom, voice activation, white balance presets and more. The camcorder has a default resolution of 1920 x 1080 which means a highly HD 1080p video. Additional multimedia include a music player capable of background playing with MP3, AAC, WMA and WAV formats. This handset also has LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring, alternatively, has a similar 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP VGA front camera and LED flash. It features auto-focus, Geo-tagging, effects, as well as scene presets. However, the camcorder can capture a smaller 1280 x 720 resolution video. It is still HD but with only 720p quality. The multimedia specifications include a music player with the same background playing ability but with a wider inclusion of different formats such as MP3, AAC, WAV, WMA, M4A, OGG, AMR and MIDI. In terms of the display, both devices exhibit decent specifications. The only thing is that the LG Optimus F3 has longer battery hours, better camera features and wider connectivity options. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Ring has larger screen resolution and display, hardware specifications and additional multimedia. Considering the price options, the two products sells at more or less $200 each.
