The iPhone 5S is expected to be way faster than the current iPhone 5, clearly indicating that there is something really smooth and powerful under the hood.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU and has 3GB of RAM. The Note 3 is the first smart device from Samsung to feature 3GB of RAM, raising the bar for all other smartphone manufacturers.

OPERATING SYSTEM
The Apple iPhone 5S runs on the same operating system as every other iPhone – Apple iOS. To be more specific, the iPhone 5S will run on iOS 7 out of the box and future updates will not be a problem at all.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box and has Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it. So Galaxy Note 3 consumers do not have to worry about updating the device, not at least till Android 4.4 KitKat is out.

STORAGE
The Apple iPhone 5S comes with 16, 32 and 64 GB of internal storage options. But similar to every other iOS device, it does not have a microSD card slot, so storage expansion is not an option.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with 32 and 64 GB of internal storage, and also has a microSD card slot using which you can expand storage by up to 64GB. Hence storage expansion is an easy option and can be done as and when you wish.

The Apple iPhone 5S has a 1440mAh Li-Po battery. This might seem to be a very low value, but it is the same battery that was present on the iPhone 5. But due to other changes on the inside, the iPhone 5S battery is able to provide a better backup. As per the stats, the battery on the iPhone 5S is expected to provide up to 10 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has a much higher capacity Li-Ion 3200mAj battery. We do not have the battery performance stats for the Note 3 either, but considering the way in which the Note 2 went on and on, the Note 3 should perform no different.

DIMENSIONS
The dimensions of the iPhone 5S are 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6mm whereas the dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm.

CONCLUSION
This is one of the best examples for consumer who believe that ‘size does matter.’ The Apple iPhone 5S is one of the best 4-inch smartphones in the entire world whereas the Galaxy Note 3 is one of the best 5.5+ inch smartphones.

The Apple iPhone 5S is super light in weight, has a thickness of just 7.6mm, and is small enough to fit in one hand. It is a device that can easily be operated with one hand and will fit in your pocket no matter how size small your pocket size may be.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is also light in weight and is slightly thicker than the iPhone 5S. The device has a massive 5.7-inch full HD display allowing you to use the device as a phone as well as a tablet.

So the bottom line is, if you are an Apple friendly consumer and prefer a smartphone that’s small, compact and extremely powerful, then the iPhone 5S is the device for you. And if you prefer to have a large screen display, extremely good battery backup and features like S-Pen, then the Galaxy Note 3 is for you.
