The recently launched Kindle Fire from Amazon is pretty much a nice upgrade from its predecessor, the kindle fire. The company has not grabbed a significant share of the tablet market but with the launching of Kindle Fire HDX with promising specifications, it looks like Amazon will soon be a force to reckon on the tablet arena. The new internal specs the Kindle Fire HDX has is really impressive and this might be the much-awaited time for Amazon to share limelight with giant tablet manufacturers such as Apple. Let’s see if Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX is worthy of a match up with Apple iPad Mini.

Kindle Fire HDX Forte: Display, Storage, Chip, Memory and Battery

Although Amazon is still considered a small player in the tablet industry, its new release of Kindle Fire HDX got a lot of attention because of its impressive specs especially when it comes to camera, processor, memory, display and media storage. Compared to the iPad Mini, the Kindle Fire HDX has a better resolution at 1920 x 1200 pixels compared to Apple’s 1024 x 768 pixels. It also offers a bigger memory of 2GB compared to iPad Mini’s 512MB. The Kindle Fire HDX is powered by a 2.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 800 while Apple has its old dual-core A5 chip on the iPad Mini. It also has a longer battery life of 11 hours while iPad Mini can only last for a maximum of 10 hours. A bigger storage also awaits future Kindle Fire HDX users that can have as much as 64 GB of media. Although Apple has established a reputable customer support, the Kindle Fire HDX has a new feature called Mayday menu which enables users to have technical support very easily.

iPad Mini: Better Camera, More Apps and Bigger Screen

The Mini version of iPad still a pretty good one. It has a wider screen of 7.9 inches compared to Kindle Fire HDX’s 7 inches. Aside from that, thousands of apps are already available in the Apple Apps Store compared to the Amazon Appstore. iPad Mini also has a better camera with 5MP rear and a 1.2MP front one. Kindle Fire has no rear camera but has a front camera with 720p video recording.

Although Kindle Fire HDX beats iPad Mini in a lot of specs, it’s still needs consideration especially that a new iPad Mini might still come out later in October.
