Google is now staging a budding serious rivalry with Amazon. The known search engine has started offering a service which will entice consumers looking for instant and fast gratification. Google Shopping Express now added a same-day delivery service to its lineup of offerings that will surely get attention from web shoppers. The new service is reported to be already available to residents living in San Jose and San Francisco area in California. The service was initiated and tested since March and is now open in some areas as it continually expands throughout the US.

Google Shopping Express Now Offers Same-Day Delivery: Amazon's Beaten?As part of Google’s efforts to enhance the experience of their web shoppers, the company has assured that it will further improve their newly-unveiled service. The new services enables users to shop at their favorite local stores while staying at home and getting their items on the same day. According to the details of the new service, orders placed before 9 a.m. will be delivered between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Meanwhile, items ordered before noon will be delivered between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Lastly, orders placed before 4:30 p.m. will be delivered between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The Google Shopping Express service is available online through iOS and Android apps, meaning, they can already place their orders even on their way home. There are also a lot of participating brands. These include Walgreens, REI, Staples, American Eagle, DODOcase, Lucky, Target, Toys”R”Us, Photojojo, Office Depot, Blue Bottle Coffee, Guitar Center and Palo Alto Toy & Sport to name a few. Participating brands are also increasing as the service improves.


Free Service Still Available for Trial; Soon to Be Paid

Trial membership to Google Shopping Express is available for free for six months. Membership also requires users to have Google Wallet account that has an active credit card association. However, web shoppers who wish not to become a member of the program can still avail goods through the service but with an additional payment of $4.99 as a delivery charge. The company has not announced the official fee for the service once the trial period ends but it will likely around the price Amazon charges its customers for the Prime feature which is $79 per year.
