The much-awaited Nexus 5 release is approaching really fast. It is expected to be released this month of October. Aside from some whopping new features that Android fans are waiting, speculations are also increasing about the smartphone’s Android OS. A new rumor reported that the new Nexus 5 would probably have the new Android OS version from Google, the Android 4.4 dubbed as ‘KitKat.’ Although it is still a rumor at present time, Nexus fans are already expecting that the new Nexus 5 smartphone will also have the new Android OS version.

The screenshot showed the gray and white status bar icons already rumored about the upcoming new Android OS. Aside from that, a tweaked version of the WiFi icon was also seen together with the display of an Android Debug Icon. One of the screenshots showed the Bluetooth icon placed on the top of the Google Authenticator icon. Rumors say that this move by Google to place the icon on the top signifies the stance of the company regarding replacement of passwords with more secure methods or it could be like that of Motorola where lock screens are disabled every time the device connects to another Bluetooth device.


Aside from the screenshot, a set of log files are also circulating that shows more specific details of the device including its assumed code name “Hammerhead”.

Other Rumors and Details About Nexus 5 Smartphone

Rumored specs for the upcoming Nexus 5 are the following: 1920 x 1080 pixels display resolution, 5-inch screen and according to earlier reports about it, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 2.3 GHz quad core processor. Aside from that, it was also rumored that it will have a 2GB worth of RAM and a pretty good 13MP camera at its rear part. Its processor could be the same with what the LG G2 has since the Nexus 5 will be also made by LG Electronics. A lot of rumors are still coming. Few days from now, we might expect some more detailed information about the much-anticipated Nexus 5.
