Apple Ditches MacBook Air – Retina Display While Other Brands Can

It seems like Apple is being mocked this time by other companies. The company has announced before that it’s never possible to release a MacBook Air with a Retina display. But, some companies particularly the Microsoft’s team of Windows 8.1 confirmed that the idea is possible. That is, if the company is willing to accept assistance from its competitors.

The only laptop that the company produced with a Retina display is the MacBook Pro. It’s not as thin as the MacBook Air, which is the reason why the hardware for a Retina screen fitted in it.

Apple team says that the thinness and its lightness are the very reasons why it can’t sneak the Retina screen into a MacBook Air. Probably, it will add on to the weight of the device and will contradict to the main objective of the device. The MacBook Air has to remain as a laptop that has a weight that is as light as air, from the name itself.

Windows 8.1 Team Can Definitely Do a Lot to Help

Only if the company is willing and open to the new possibilities, the Windows team can help. There are already a lot of Windows running laptops that have screens that seem to have a Retina display.

HP, Dell and Sony Vaio have already released remarkable laptops that can be compared to the MacBook Pro, the one with the Retina display. However, the company confirmed that it’s also possible to have a MacBook Air with a Retina display with the technology that it will be using to produce one.

HP, Dell and Sony Overtakes the Macintosh Company

While Apple continues to say no about the idea, other giant companies have already released laptops that can surpass or at least level the screen of a MacBook with a Retina display. It just goes to show that with extra help from other companies, the Macintosh Company can also release an Air with a retina screen.

The Dell XPs 11 is one of the recently released tablet-laptops from Dell. It weighs as light as 2.5 pounds with a thinness of 0.57 inches. It has 2,560×1, 440 resolution in its display without mentioning that it’s a touch-based laptop. The resolution specifications alone beat the one that the MacBook Air has.

The Sony Vaio Pro 11 has been released a few months ago. But, it has 1,920×1, 080 screen resolution, which makes it stand out from the crowd. It’s also amazing that its resolution capacity can level with what the MacBook Air has.

The HP Spectre 13 is as thin as the MacBook Air and has a screen resolution that is a few digits close to what the MacBook Pro has. It has 2,560×1, 440 touchscreen display, which is expected to appear like a Retina screen display.

Having a MacBook around could be one of the best things anyone can own. A MacBook Air doesn’t have a Retina display yet, but its screen is as clear as glass. The MacBook Pro on the other hand has a Retina display and there’s nothing else we can comment on its screen resolution.

The technology market is surely waiting for the company to finally release a MacBook Air with such display. It’s very light and is even lighter than a tablet.

Do you think it’s better to have a new MacBook Air with a Retina display or better stay with Apple’s admirable MacBook Pro?
