Samsung expected to bring Galaxy Folder to Asian countries, release date set in October

Samsung fans and consumers based in Asia will be happy to know that the company is expected to launch one of its mid-segment smartphones in your region. This device is expected to be an alternate version (international version if you would like to call it) of the Samsung Galaxy Folder.

Recent report from Sammobile indicates that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Golden/Folder smartphone in Asia. This device is expected to have the model number GT-I9230 and will have an almost identical set of specs and features.

For next-gen consumers, the Samsung Galaxy Folder might not be a smartphone to opt for. You must be more interested in smartphones like the Apple iPhone, Galaxy S4 or the HTC One. But let me remind you that there are a number of consumers who still love the ‘old school design’ of the Samsung Galaxy Folder and prefer the smartphone over most of the new full touchscreen display bar design smartphones out in the market.

Of course, the Galaxy Folder is not a very powerful smartphone, and honestly, it does not have to be. It has been built to be a mid-segment handset and does the job pretty well. The device has a 3.7-inch LCD display with a decent screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. We do not have information about the chipset that will be present in the device, but we do know that it will have an 8MP primary camera, 1.9MP secondary camera, MicroSD card support and support for 3G connectivity. The device has already passed the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certification and is on its way to the market.

So if you are interested in buying a new mid-segment smartphone, then the Samsung Galaxy Folder could be definitely worth checking out. Take a look at its key specifications and let us know if you are looking forward to getting one.

Samsung Galaxy Folder (Upcoming)

  • 3.7-inch LCD display
  • 480 × 800 pixels screen resolution
  • 8MP primary camera
  • 1.9MP secondary camera

  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

By the way, as mentioned earlier the upcoming smartphone is expected to be almost identical to the already available Samsung Galaxy Folder. We are not sure if the chipset and internal storage will be the same as the Galaxy Folder. Samsung might have plans to give the new version a bit of an upgrade, making it more desirable to Asian consumers.
