Tablet Comparison – Lenovo S5000 VS Asus FonePad 7 (2014 Edition)

What maintains the attention of the consumers when it comes to the current technology is that almost every single day, there is a new gadget that a company will unveil to the world. And until that gadget is released in stores, consumers will always keep their eyes open in anticipation to the latest news about gadgets. For instance, two of the soon-to-be-released tablets that individuals are talking about today are the Lenovo S5000 and Asus FonePad 7. Both of which came from very popular brands. Anyhow, this review will discuss the specs that these devices offer to help consumers decide which one they want to buy.

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lenovo S5000

Tablet Comparison - Lenovo S5000 VS Asus FonePad 7 (2014 Edition)As a brand of computers, Lenovo must come up with innovative design and manufacture sophisticated gadgets that speeds up the work of people. The Lenovo S5000 is a tablet and one of the newest products of the said company. With 7 inches of diagonal screen size and incredible thinness, this basically competes against Apple’s iPad Mini and Google’s Nexus 7 2013. According to Lenovo, when this comes out in stores, it will probably cost at least $260 or more. Considering its not-so-premium yet not-so-basic features, this price tag is generally cheap and affordable.

Compared to the FonePad 7, this tablet is much lighter and easier to carry around with only 249 grams of weight. Also, portability is always an important factor of a gadget these days. On the other hand, although the two devices have a similar screen size, the S5000 exhibits an updated version of Android 4.2 which makes it a little better. The display features go along with the top-of-the-line operating system to showcase a respectable performance and attractive display. This includes a 178-degree viewing angle which is pretty impressive. Users can take advantage of this by using the additional software that comes with this device. It includes the AccuWeather, Kingsoft Office, Skype and Lenovo Laucher.

In terms of the improvements that Lenovo S5000 needs to incorporate on it is the missing memory card slot. Although the internal storage comes in 16GB, sometimes, it is still not enough for some people – especially those who like downloading applications, taking photos and shooting videos every so often. In the same way, this tablet should also have a battery-saving feature so that users can navigate it for an extensive period.

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Asus FonePad 7

In terms of the physical dimensions and size, this tablet is much heavier than the S5000 by Lenovo but it exhibits a similar diagonal screen size of 7 inches. Obviously, the portability difference did not necessarily become a deal-breaker. However, looking at the design, it seems that this tablet is more attractive than its rival. With a black cover on the back, this one looks smooth and sleek with an integrated smudge resistance.

Technically, this tablet has a much faster processor than the Lenovo handset. At 1.6 GHz of a dual-core Intel chipset, it is expected to perform tasks without any delays and unnecessary pauses. Playing games and watching online media should be as easy as browsing the internet and reading emails. In addition, it also has an external memory card slot which can be used for up to 32 GB of maximum MicroSD sizes. To top that, users also do not have to worry about how long they can explore this device since its 3950 mAh battery can last up to a maximum of 10 hours.

Unfortunately, the Asus FonePad 7 also needs to incorporate new innovation to this handset. For one, the front camera has a lower 1.2MP than the S5000’s 1.6MP. Even though this is just a small difference in number and not necessarily something that could make or break the consumer’s decision, it would be greatly appreciated if taking self-portraits and chatting can be done with a much higher quality.

Which Tablet Should You Choose?

The Lenovo S5000  is a great device for consumers who prefer investing a small amount of money for a gadget that does not necessarily come with cut-rate features. Although it still needs some improvements, this tablet is useful to bring in schools and offices. On the other hand, the Asus FonePad 7 could be a contending choice for individuals who want to store a lot of data on their devices and a long-lasting battery to support their activities. Although the official price has not been released yet by its manufacturers, we are hoping that this tablet is also as affordable as its rival.

Did  you like the Lenovo S5000? Or would you rather buy the Asus FonePad 7?
