Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo is expected to unveil its new flagship device very soon. This new smartphone is expected to change the current definition of Full HD display with its astonishing new display resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
Yes, that’s correct, the new flagship smartphone from Vivo will have a display resolution that completely shatters all current records. By the way, a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels means that the device will be equipped with a 2K display. This resolution is exactly double the resolution present in most of the 720p high-end smartphone in the market. These include the Motorola Droid Maxx, Motorola Moto X, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S3 and even the Note 2.
This news report comes from Asia and speaks about the work Vivo has been doing since some time. Vivo also rolled out a teaser image that allows us to take a look at how the device will be, and how the resolution will line up on the display screen. But as you can see in the image, the company has rolled out a graph of the image or a sketch so to say, but the actual device and its looks are not out yet.
Some say that this display panel that everyone has been talking about is the 5.5-inch prototype display that LG demoed at the start of this year. So if this information is correct, then Vivo will soon unveil a 5.5-inch phablet that will be all set and ready to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One Max. But in the end, it’s the list of features and overall performance that will decide the winner. Because to be practical and honest, not all consumers need such high resolution on a 5.5-inch display. If you do not know already, it has been said that the human eye can hardly differentiate between 720p and 1080p displays. So 1440p is out of question.
By the way, the prototype display showcased by LG was 5.5-inch in diagonal size and had a pixel density of 534 ppi (pixels per inch). If the ‘battle of the pixels’ is what you are interested in, then you already have the winner in front of you, at least for now.
Apart from the extremely crisp clear display, the new smartphone from Vivo is expected to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and will have support for 4G TDD/FDD LTE. The flagship smartphone is expected to be offered by the three big carriers companies in the country.
We will get back to you with more updates very soon. Till then, let us know what you think about this new smartphone from Vivo?
