Samsung’s newest Android flagship phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has become the official Olympic phone for the year. Samsung will be giving a special edition of the Galaxy Note 3 to all athletes that participate in the Olympic games, as the Note 3 has also been named as the official Olympic Games phone.
For those who have not guessed it yet, Samsung is the official partner of the Olympic games. The company has announced a collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and wants to make the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games “the most wireless, seamless and paperless Olympic Games ever.”
In order to seamlessly blend technology with the Olympic games, the Korean smartphone manufacturer has come up with a special application that gives you all the information and updates about the event. The app is called Wireless Olympic Works or simply WOW, and aims at providing essential, up-to-date Games Time data and connectivity.
This is not just for fun and to show how good the Note 3 can be, but instead Samsung aims to support the Olympic Games operation and the Olympic staff. Additionally, all the athletes participating at the event will be able to try out the Note 3 once they are done with their games (those who haven’t got their hands on the Galaxy Note 3 already).
And by the way, Samsung is not only making this app for the Olympic team and staff. Wireless Olympic Works or WOW will be available to consumers all around the world. For these consumers, the app will provide free, real-time access to news from the Games, including updated event schedules, the latest official results, medal counts and record statistics. So if you were planning to stay in touch with all the games this year, you can have all the updates and information in your pocket!
Samsung has also come up with a special Galaxy Team that includes more than 80 athletes from 20 countries. The company is doing a lot of other cool and interesting stuff as well. So if you are interested in checking out the complete details, you can do so by visiting the source link given below.
